Crypto Account Analyst
Description
STORE is looking for a part-time role to provide crypto accounting services. This person will report to the COO. The role has two sets of responsibilities: general reporting along with accounting of the company's digital assets; and, assisting in the design of STORE's digital asset accounting system that leverages the project's consumable APIs to account for internal transactions and fees generated by miners and governance branches.
This is an exciting role that will be working on the bleeding edge of crypto and digital asset accounting. This role requires more than just ensuring accounting practices.
Minimal requirements for this role are demonstrated proficiency with digital asset accounting and the ability to lead and produce digital asset accounting materials for a startup using best industry practices. This individual should also be familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as that's the goal that STORE will strive to achieve, even as a startup.
Strategically, this person will also contribute to the development of a more complex digital asset management system for the STORE protocol. Therefore, it is required that the person is comfortable with building Excel models to simulate the impact of staking on treasury balances and internal accounting payment systems.
Applicant should be comfortable working across functions and have a strong solution-oriented approach to problem solving. Finally, a genuine interest in Layer-1 protocols and understanding of the digital asset accounting ecosystem is preferred.

What the role entails
- Responsible for the monthly close out process for all digital assets from reconciliation through assessment of impairment
- Oversee digital asset reporting, including preparation of forecasts to senior management
- Define criteria and requirements while leading the evaluation, selection, and implementation of digital asset cost system
- Work across functionalities to ensure accurate reporting across various entities
- Navigate unstructured problems and know how to ask questions to proactively identify potential roadblocks, implement changes in an environment with shifting priorities
- Serve as the expert for digital asset accounting for Tax, Legal, and other relevant teams for all digital asset related matters
What we're looking for
- 4+ years of experience in a combination of industry and public accounting experience with 3+ years in a general accounting or controllership function
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
- Proven record of solving for complex technical accounting issues
- Strong project management skills with effective communication across departments
- Ability to rapidly respond to changing priorities and accommodate short notice for deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of Excel required
- Experience with Quickbooks, Coinbase Pro, crypto OTC
What we offer
- This is a part time role (hourly), depending on work levels, we expect 2-10 hours per month
